Produced by Jaiber Joven at Aguas Claras farm
Red apple, butterscotch and Brazil nuts
Our Aguas Claras is an Odd Kin original, the first coffee we ever sourced and roasted ourselves.
This easy drinker is everything we wanted from our first Colombian coffee, so much so that after we tasted it on the cupping table we got a little bit excited, and ordered every single bean on offer from our import partners Right Side Coffee.
Having been produced in the Guadalupe region of Colombia, this varietal boasts interesting flavours and a soft, velvety body. Aguas Claras feels super mellow on the palate, with notes of red apple finishing up with butterscotch and Brazil nuts.
We owe this bean to Jaiber Joven, who inherited his farm, Aguas Claras from his father, and now lives there with his wife and daughters.
The Aguas Claras farm is five hectares big, located 1,689 metres above sea level in one of Colombia’s prime growing regions, Huila. This Colombian coffee certainly lives up to the reputation that precede coffees grown here.

🇨🇴 A bit more about this Colombian coffee:
Since inheriting the Aguas Claras farm, Jaiber has worked tirelessly to improve the consistency and quality of their coffee, but he hasn’t stopped there.
Jaiber is constantly working on exciting new processing techniques to help elevate his coffees to the next level and the results are a joy to drink.
The ripe Colombian coffee cherries are picked by hand and then washed to remove the cherry skins, before going through a prolonged fermentation.
Jaiber then dries the coffee slowly, over approximately 28 days, through a drying process called ‘paseras’, where he leaves some open spaces amongst the coffee to allow for the air to flow.
We will always remember Aguas Claras as our first.
From Jaiber Joven’s farm in Colombia, to Odd Kin’s roastery here in Bristol – we hope our flagship coffee leaves a lasting impression on you too!
